Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee Component to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including the distribution of products to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations during development into a McLane Driver.

You will train with a Driver Trainer, maintain driver logs, ensure on-time delivery, and uphold safety and DOT requirements. Minimum HS diploma, CDL-A, and 21+ years old are required; day-one benefits and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Read, write, and understand English at a functional level for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor and attach trailer, secure lines.
• Operate truck safely per regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment pre/post trip; submit DOT report.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document receipts/temps.
• Train with Driver Trainer to learn driving operations and safety.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist unloading and delivering to customers.
• Provide on-time delivery and handle returns/credits.
• Other duties as assigned.
