Job summary

PFG Customized is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer or straight truck routes within intrastate and/or interstate delivery of food products. Training will cover safety checks, DOT regulations, and customer service while working under the guidance of a driver trainer.

These roles are full-time, with a 4- or 5-day work week and early morning dispatch. Compensation begins at $20.00 per hour, with benefits starting Day 1, and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Valid CDL A Permit.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attends and successfully completes Driver Trainee training program.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and DOT inspections.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight; verify customer invoices.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products and obtain customer signatures; collect payments where required.
• Complete daily hours-of-service records and necessary paperwork.
