Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer and dock-to-driver operations across local and intrastate routes. You will complete required safety checks, ride with a trainer, assist with deliveries, secure freight, and communicate professionally with customers while adhering to DOT regulations.

Starting pay ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 annually with bi-weekly pay; benefits include Day 1 health and wellness, 401(k) matching, stock purchase plan,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or state approved equivalent required.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience preferred.
• Valid CDL A required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move product cases/freight.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight; verify customer invoices.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to schedule.
• Unload products and obtain signatures; collect payments where required.
• Secure equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
