Job summary

Performance Food Group seeks an entry level Driver Trainee in San Antonio, TX to learn tractor trailer or straight truck operations on local and interstate routes, working safely under the driver trainer and ensuring DOT compliance.

You will participate in training, complete pre/post trip inspections, deliver and unload food products, and maintain accurate paperwork while joining a team focused on reliability and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or state approved equivalent.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• Attains or has a valid current DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries.
• Perform required safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report safety issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer and verify loads; complete required paperwork accurately.
• Deliver orders according to route schedule and unload at customer locations.
• Ensure security of equipment and freight; collect signatures and payments when required.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping and end-of-shift paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
