Job summary

Performance Food Group in San Antonio, TX is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer/straight truck deliveries across local and interstate routes. Expect early dispatch hours, safety training, and hands-on experience with unloading and customer service responsibilities.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL-A, at least 6 months of commercial driving, and a DOT health card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience preferred.
• Valid CDL A license required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• DOT Health Card required.
• Clean MVR in last 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and handle equipment.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Entry Level Driver Trainee program.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries as needed.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Deliver and unload customer orders according to route schedule.
• Capture signatures and collect payments as required.
• Maintain clean and secure tractor, trailer, and freight.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping in dock areas and trailers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
