Job summary

McLane is seeking a Trainee Component Driver to learn the essential functions of the Driver role while supporting distribution to customer locations. You'll gain hands-on experience in trailer handling, safety compliance, and DOT documentation as you train with a Driver Trainer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform math calculations to verify quantities.
• Read, write, and understand English to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT reports.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures using DDH.
• Assist with unloading and delivering products at customer sites.
• Provide on-time delivery and handling of customer credits.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
• Learn driving regulations with Driver Trainer.
