Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in Temple, TX seeks a Driver Trainee Component to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations as part of becoming a McLane Driver.

You'll train with a Driver Trainer, gain knowledge of driving regulations, and participate in safety and delivery procedures to support on-time, undamaged product delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Read and comprehend labels and bills of lading.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver products.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld to document receipts and temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulations and maneuvers.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product.
• Provide customer service and on-time delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
