Job summary

XPO is hiring a Truck Driver Student in New York to train and gain on‑the‑job experience as an LTL Driver. You’ll attend CDL‑A training, perform inspections, and learn FMCSR compliance under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state driver’s license for at least 12 months.
• Obtain CDL-A permit and endorsements within 90 days of employment.
• Initiate TSA fingerprint-based background check by the second week of class.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Pass DOT drug test with no positive tests or refusals in the last 3 years.
• Pass company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test; perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred: Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Under supervision, perform FMCSR vehicle inspections (FMCSR 396.13).
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load/unload freight using a forklift as needed (touch freight).
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.
