Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver - CDL (A) to safely operate heavy trucks and service customer routes in Albany, OR. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and timely delivery and removal of large containers.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, report defects, and maintain vehicle readiness while interacting professionally with customers and dispatchers. The position requires a Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement, and typically involves minor container repairs

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed expectations.
• Must adhere to safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per policy.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated routes to service customers.
• Load/unload refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of material at facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and staff daily.
• Perform minor container repairs on site or in yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory containers and tag accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and maintain vehicle readiness.
• Complete route sheets, VCRs and required reports.
