Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers requiring effort.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete required reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Perform limited non-driving duties such as dock work or city driver tasks.
• Operate freight handling equipment like forklift or pallet jack when needed.
