Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver-focused position in Wisconsin where you will operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, and perform comprehensive safety inspections before and after trips.

You will hook and unhook trailers, manage freight with various equipment, secure loads, and handle required paperwork while following hazmat rules and dispatch instructions. Customer service and lead generation are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math ability and count, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform required training.
• Must be able to follow instructions and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related documentation.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and company procedures.
