Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer equipment, including doubles, and perform required safety inspections. You will maintain logs, complete documentation, and follow dispatch instructions while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.

This role may involve city driving, dock work, and occasional freight handling using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks. Strong math, communication, and independent/team work are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learner permit (CLP).
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, and lift as part of daily operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and documentation.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and report delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding requirements.
• Provide internal/external customer service when needed.
• May perform freight handling and warehouse tasks as required.
