Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailers including doubles and straight trucks, with duties spanning pre/post-trip inspections and dock responsibilities in addition to forklift and freight handling.

The role requires a CDL A or CLP, ability to meet DOT regulations, and physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently, with opportunities to advance and work varied shifts. ADA assistance is available.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or CLP required prior to entering job classification.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• DOT FMCSA regulations knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related records.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and placarding.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Determine pick-up or delivery needs with customers.
• Identify upsell opportunities and pass leads to sales.
• Occasionally perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Chain vehicle tires as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
