Job summary

Veolia is seeking a CDL A Driver to join our on-site team at various retail facilities. You will characterize and package hazardous and pharmaceutical waste, document shipments, and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, and state regulations.

Travel within a defined territory and manage your schedule and expenses to service customers promptly. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, and being at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Travel between customer retail facilities, through assigned territory.
• Provide services related to managing retail hazardous waste and pharmaceutical waste as well as characterizing hazardous, regulated, and non-hazardous waste.
• Properly process lab packs and prepare manifests and LDRs for hazardous waste shipment (according to State, EPA & DOT regulations).
• Maintain / manage own expenses and travel schedule to ensure customers are serviced on a regular and timely basis. Manage route to maintain compliance with 10-day transfer schedules.
• Provide training and support for customers on processes, findings and regulatory compliance.
• Provide written and verbal reports to customer and supervisor.
• Hazwoper trained technician capable of on-site waste characterization, packing and generation of all required documents, driving a truck, not a truck driver who only picks up hazardous waste.

Job Description

The CDL A Driver works on-site at various retail stores and perform two functions, applying all applicable federal and state laws and DOT, EPA and DEA regulations: 1) Characterize segregate, package and document various types of retail hazardous waste and 2) Characterize, segregate, package, and document various types of pharmaceutical waste. This position is also responsible for the preparation of all appropriate and required documentation to meet State, EPA, DOT and EPA regulations.

• Travel between customer retail facilities, through assigned territory.
• Provide services related to managing retail hazardous waste and pharmaceutical waste as well as characterizing hazardous, regulated, and non-hazardous waste.
• Properly process lab packs and prepare manifests and LDR’s for hazardous waste shipment (according to State, EPA & DOT regulations).

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• By law, you must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred Requirements:

• TWIC Card.
• Experience operating vac trucks, combo vehicles, and roll offs.

As you will interact with customers and internal staff, fluency in English (verbal and written) will be important.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a DOT physical, drug test and DEA background check.
