FedEx Freight in Santa Clara, CA seeks a CDL‑A driver responsible for pick up and delivery between service centers, pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and supporting sales with customer interactions.

Must have CDL‑A with hazmat and tank endorsements; one year of experience or completion of the Driver Development Course; strong safety record; ability to lift 100 lbs; hours may vary. Starting pay around $37/hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Must possess one year experience within the last three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations
• Long combination vehicles in certain states require LCV qualification
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times a week
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combos and perform pre-trip inspections
• Hook/unhook trailers and dolls, perform freight handling
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickups/deliveries
• Support sales by requesting additional business from customers
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies
• Perform other duties as required
