Job summary

FedEx Freight in Hayward, CA is seeking a professional Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers while supporting the selling process. The position requires a CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements, one year of recent driving experience or the FedEx Driver Development Course, and a valid MVR.

You will perform inspections, secure freight, communicate with dispatch, and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with hazmat and tank endorsements required.
• 1 year driving experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Driver Development Course.
• Must have a valid MVR and meet DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer with doubles/triples as applicable.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections daily.
• Hook/unhook trailers and handles freight securely.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickups/deliveries.
• Assist in sales by soliciting additional business where appropriate.
