Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver in New Jersey to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, while supporting the selling process.

The role requires operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and handling documentation with a focus on safety and customer service. Starting pay is $37.08 per hour, with additional mileage pay for linehaul duties.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year of experience within the last three years or successful FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC 391.
• LCV qualifications apply in listed states; ability to meet requirements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractors or trailers.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports; communicate with dispatch and customers.
