FedEx Freight in Bethpage, NY is seeking a CDL-licensed driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers while supporting the sales process. The role emphasizes safe driving, daily vehicle inspections, and collaboration with dispatch and customers.

You must hold a class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, have at least one year of recent driving experience or completion of the FedEx Driver Development Course, and meet DOT/FMCSA requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year experience within the most recent three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples if applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with customers and dispatch on pickups, deliveries and delays.
• Promote additional business to customers and provide leads to sales.
• May perform road driver or dock duties as needed.
• Follow DOT regulations and company policies.
