Job summary

The role requires operating tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable), performing pre-trip inspections, handling freight with equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with DOT and hazardous materials rules, and providing excellent customer service to generate additional business.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in the past 3 years or completed FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT FMC regulations under 391.
• Hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of offer.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports; comply with DOT regulations.
