Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring in New Jersey for a CDL-equipped driver who will pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. The role includes inspecting vehicles, securing cargo, and supporting sales with leads for new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic restriction allowed.
• One year of recent driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR must meet hiring standards; DOT/FMCSA requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable) and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope and other equipment.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
