Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. seeks a CDI Physician Education Specialist to provide onsite CDI education at division and facility levels. You will interpret trend data, conduct focused reviews, and partner with physicians to improve documentation quality.

The role requires independent work style and travel up to 25%. You will deliver education to physicians, residents, and APPs, develop educational resources, and collaborate with CDI operations to drive outcomes across multiple hospitals within the

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
3+ years of healthcare experience required
3+ years inpatient CDI experience (2+ years) required
Registered Nurse or any credential nationally recognized as AHIMA/ACDIS–Required

Responsibilities

Educate CDI stakeholders professionally and clearly as directed by CDI standards.
Prioritize day-to-day activities with strong organizational skills.
Deliver education to physicians, residents, and APPs in meetings, rounding, and individual sessions.
Develop documentation education resources as defined by CDI standards.
Review documentation data to identify root causes and trends.
Represent CDI in cross‑department projects with clinical documentation implications.
Participate in coding and documentation pilots and projects.
Collaborate with multi‑department teams to leverage technology for physician documentation.
Serve as a resource for multiple hospitals within the division.
Assist with timely physician query completion.
Follow CDI leadership guidance for task alignment and standard processes.
