The Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) seeks an experienced Director of Compliance and Operations in Kansas City, MO. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, human services, compliance, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, quality assurance, operations, or related areas, including human services or developmental-disability services.
  • At least two years of formal supervisory or team-leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of Missouri DMH requirements, licensing, accreditation standards, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing audits, corrective actions, records, projects, vendors, or operational controls.
  • Strong supervisory, project-management, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

What You'll Do
Compliance, Quality Assurance & Risk Management
  • Lead the development, review, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, monitoring systems, and corrective-action processes.
  • Oversee random and targeted audits using applicable DMH, service coordination, CARF, licensing and certification, program review, and internal checklists.
  • Review audit findings and compliance data, identify trends, prioritize organizational risk, assign corrective actions, and verify timely resolution.
  • Ensure organized and audit-ready records, including appropriate oversight of client-file compliance systems and supporting documentation.
  • Provide clear compliance reports, risk summaries, and recommendations to executive leadership and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Promote consistent understanding and application of regulatory requirements, internal policies, and quality expectations across departments.
Operations, Facilities, Fleet & Asset Oversight
  • Oversee fleet records and systems, including vehicle assignments, maintenance coordination, mileage, fuel cards, vehicle tagging, and driving-behavior reporting.
  • Provide direction for utility, internet, phone, vendor, and account coordination across agency and client-support locations.
  • Ensure effective controls for keys, access cards, custodial checkout records, property, technology, equipment, and other organizational assets.
  • Oversee the administration and effective use of operational systems and databases, including monday.com, SetWorks, Enterprise, WEX, Azuga, and other assigned platforms.
  • Evaluate workflows and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, documentation, communication, accountability, and service continuity.
  • Coordinate with facilities, information technology, finance, human resources, and program leadership on cross-functional operational needs.
Leadership & Supervision
  • Directly supervise the Compliance Specialist and Operations Coordinator.
  • Establish annual and monthly priorities, clarify assignments, balance workloads, and maintain an integrated compliance and operations work plan.
  • Hold regular supervision meetings and review audit reports, dashboards, schedules, records, and other work products for accuracy, timeliness, and follow-through.
  • Provide coaching, training, feedback, and performance management consistent with CDD policies and Human Resources practices.
  • Ensure cross-training, written procedures, backup coverage, escalation pathways, and continuity for essential responsibilities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for significant compliance concerns, unresolved operational issues, and matters requiring executive coordination.
Planning, Reporting & Organizational Support
  • Develop and monitor department goals, key performance indicators, audit calendars, corrective-action logs, fleet and asset controls, and operational project schedules.
  • Prepare concise monthly and periodic reports for executive leadership highlighting risks, trends, overdue actions, resource needs, and recommended decisions.
  • Participate in organizational planning, accreditation preparation, policy development, emergency response coordination, and other assigned initiatives.
Required
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, human services, compliance, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, quality assurance, operations, administration, or a related area, including experience in human services or developmental-disability services.
  • At least two years of formal supervisory or team-leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of Missouri DMH requirements, service coordination processes, licensing and certification expectations, accreditation standards, or comparable regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing audits, corrective actions, records, projects, vendors, systems, or operational controls.
  • Strong supervisory, project-management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and change-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases, dashboards, and the ability to learn agency systems.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with CARF accreditation, Therap or SetWorks, fleet-management platforms, monday.com, dashboard reporting, and multi-site operations.
  • Relevant certification in compliance, quality, project management, risk management, or process improvement.
The Role at a Glance
  • Pay: $78,000-$82,000/year
  • Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Work Setting: Office-based with visits to CDD program settings across the Kansas City metropolitan area
  • Travel: Regular local travel to metropolitan-area and other assigned CDD locations; valid driver's license and ability to meet organizational insurance requirements required- Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
