Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Lima, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for St. Rita's Medical Center – CCU (3B) on the Full-Time Nights schedule (7pm-7am, every 3rd weekend).

The PCT provides basic health care and support under RN guidance, including cleaning rooms, monitoring vitals, and assisting with feeding and grooming. The role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and hand-offs, with EPIC EHR training preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing aide training program completed or STNA/CNA certification or nursing program with clinical nursing course.
• BLS certification preferred on hire; must be obtained before direct patient care.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician offices, home health, hospice, or long-term care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care, including comfort, vital signs, and hygiene.
• Assist with mobility and activities of daily living.
• Report changes to the nurse and document care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Support hand-offs and care coordination.
• Assist with patient and family communication.
