Job summary

University of Southern California in California is seeking a Surveillance Operations Monitor to oversee CCTV and alarm monitoring across campus. You will document incidents, extract evidentiary records, and coordinate responses with Public Safety personnel on the University Park and Health Sciences campuses.

The role requires a high school diploma with at least 2 years of related experience, and a valid California driver’s license. Shifts include holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in CCTV or alarm monitoring.
• Knowledge of CCTV, alarm systems, and security procedures; strong computer skills.
• Valid California driver's license; ability to work under pressure and in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to detect security events.
• Respond to requests from Public Safety and observe suspicious activity.
• Document incidents and prepare logs/reports in systems.
• Liaise with police and other agencies as needed during investigations.
• Testify in court as a department representative when required.
• Serve as Campus Security Authority and follow Clery Act protocols.
