Job summary

Summit Exercises and Training LLC is seeking a DHS CBRN/WMD Detection Operations SME in Novota, California. The role supports DHS MDDU with detection operations, training, and exercises nationwide, requiring travel and vigilance in safety and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will manage MDDU equipment, coordinate deployments, and prepare after-action reports, working with federal, state, and local partners to strengthen national security capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, biological, radiological, and/or nuclear (CBRN) detection with emphasis on radiation detection.
• 5 years' experience in radiation detection training and supporting detection operations at events or during steady state operations where detection is regularly required.
• Knowledgeable in using representative radiation detection equipment: PRD, RIIDs, MDDU gear, RSI-701, D3S/IdentiFINDER.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET-level national security clearance and DHS Suitability.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to maintain a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain care, custody, and control of MDDU equipment, including detection equipment, and radioactive sources.
• Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update computerized tracking information as required.
• Ensure MDDU equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained in a ready state for deployment 24/7.
• Safely handle, use, transport, and ship radioactive sources following federal regulations.
• Perform CBRN detection operations with Federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Perform CBRN training with agencies and stakeholders.
• Train and share knowledge with MDDU team members.
• Prepare timely after-action reports of missions and updates to leadership.
