Job description

Knowesis is seeking a Senior Scientist to research, review, and respond to requests and briefings; develop and validate processes for DoD intramural medical, chemical, and biological research; and support activities related to the transition of medical CBRN programs. The role involves collecting, organizing, and revising intramural and extramural planning, program, resources, and execution data from laboratory and headquarters staff.

This position requires a Secret Clearance, and applicants must be U.S. Citizens without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to security clearance requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Review research requests and briefings; develop and validate processes for DoD intramural medical, chemical, biological research; support activities related to the transition of medical CBRN programs.
2. Collect, organize, and revise planning, program, resources, and execution data from laboratory and headquarters staff.
3. Design and conduct technology assessments; prepare summary reports addressing technical issues within research areas or programs, including in-house, extramural, and congressional efforts.
4. Review research requests, support development of PPBES documentation.
5. Develop and validate processes for DoD intramural medical chemical biological defense research.
6. Support activities related to transitioning medical CBRN defense programs through development, procurement, FDA approval, and other regulatory or statutory processes.
7. Assist in developing strategic plans, budget briefings, spend plans, and program announcements.
8. Develop Statements of Work for DoD studies.
9. Collaborate with intramural and extramural partners to prepare, revise, and edit technical publications.
10. Advise partners on meeting obligations within USAMRDC and CBDP requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate in a biomedical field with 6-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the chemical or biological medical defense space.
