Description

Senior Scientist - CBRN DCO

Research & Analysis Support Services: Research review, and respond to requests, briefings; develop/validate processes for DoD intramural medical/chemical/biological research; support activities related to the transition of medical CBRN programs. Collect, organize, revise intramural and extramural planning, program, resources and execution data from laboratory and headquarters staff.
Responsibilities:

  • Research review, and respond to requests, briefings; develop/validate processes for DoD intramural medical/chemical/biological research; support activities related to the transition of medical CBRN programs.
  • Collect, organize, revise intramural and extramural planning, program, resources and execution data from laboratory and headquarters staff.
  • Design and conduct technology assessments and prepare summary reports addressing technical issues in defined research task areas, specific research topics, or on the entire medical RDT&E program, which may include in-house programs, extramural efforts supporting planned appropriations, and extramural efforts for congressional special interest appropriations.
  • Research reviews, respond to research requests, briefings, support development of PPBES documentation.
  • Develop and validate processes for DoD intramural medical chemical biological defense research.
  • Support activities related to the transition of medical CBRN defense related programs through advanced development and DoD procurement, FDA approval, and other regulatory, statutory, and defense acquisition or policy processes.
  • Provide support for the development of strategic plans, budget briefings, spend plans, and program announcements.
  • Provide support for the development of Statements of Works for DoD studies.
  • Collaborate with intramural and extramural partners to prepare, revise and edit technical guide publications as necessary.
  • Consult and advise intramural/extramural partners on meeting obligations within USAMRDC and CBDP requirements.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Required to have a doctorate in a biomedical field with an overall years of experience of 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience, with a specialization of 2 or more years’ experience in the chemical or biological medical defense space.
  • Assume that sites of operation will be near the Head Quarters (HQ) and USAMRDC (Fort Detrick).
  • Telework may be permitted.
  • Normal workdays are Monday through Friday except US Federal Holidays. Workers typically work eight (8) hours per day, 40 hours per week. Flextime workers start not earlier than 0600 and not later than 0900. Core hours of work are from 0900 to 1500 daily, not including a lunch break.
  • For purpose of planning, work will be performed in an office setting with personnel available for government interactions between the core hours 0900 and 1500 hours each Federal workday.
  • All contractor personnel shall be required to complete and sign a contractor NDA prior to beginning work on the subject contract.
  • Shall be United States citizen.
  • Hold an active SECRET clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
