Job summary

St. Mary Catholic School in Mokena is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Assistant Principal role within the Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools. The position is full-time and benefit eligible with an August, 2026 start date.

As a member of the administrative team, the Assistant Principal will assist the principal in creating a Catholic culture, support teachers and students, participate in staff development, and help with curriculum planning, student discipline, and leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; Illinois admin licensure (Type 75 or Principal Endorsement) or in an accredited program.
• 3–5 years teaching in a Catholic school preferred; leadership experience valued.
• Catholic affiliation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assuming responsibility in the absence of the principal.
• Assisting in teacher evaluation and lesson plan review.
• Assist in curriculum development and implementation.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Supervise student conduct and maintain discipline records.
• Coordinate substitute teachers and parent-teacher conferences.
