Job summary

HF Sinclair Midstream in Casper, WY seeks a Corrosion Prevention Technician to plan and perform cathodic protection and corrosion control for pipelines and tanks. The role includes testing, surveys, data interpretation, and coordination with operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CP/corrosion experience, basic MS Office skills, and the ability to work in varied environments. Travel up to 40% and participation in audits and NACE meetings are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years on-the-job experience required.
• Preferred: pipeline construction/operations background and electrical theory knowledge.
• NACE Level I Cathodic Protection Tester Certification or NACE Corrosion Technologist Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize corrosion testing equipment to evaluate pipelines and tanks for corrosion and CP program adequacy.
• Develop and implement plans to remedy deficiencies.
• Measure and troubleshoot rectifiers used in cathodic protection.
• Complete cathodic protection corrosion surveys.
• Maintain records of surveys and tests in line with policies.
• Conduct atmospheric inspections of assets per policy.
• Participate in PHMSA, state and internal audits.
• Attend NACE local chapter meetings and area conferences.
• Assist in installing corrosion mitigation systems and maintenance coordination.
• Coordinate CP/corrosion prevention system maintenance in assigned area.
