Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. The role supports cardiac testing, catheterizations, and interventions with a focus on patient care and equipment management.

The candidate will perform diagnostic tests, assist physicians during procedures, and ensure high-quality cardiac care within a full-time day shift. Eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus; benefits include comprehensive medical options and 401K.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R or RCIS certification is required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills are required.
• Experience in a Cardiovascular Lab is preferred.
• Training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs to measure heart electrical activity and monitor rhythm.
• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures.
• Assist with angioplasty and stenting to open blocked arteries.
• May assist in pacemaker and defibrillator implantations setup and monitoring.
• Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests, explain procedures, ensure comfort.
• Monitor vital signs during tests and procedures and report issues to the physician.
• Assist in invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

We are seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist, also referred to as a Cath Lab Technologist. A CathLab Tech will be a specialized healthcare professional dedicated to assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Their responsibilities primarily involve performing diagnostic tests, managing equipment, and supporting physicians during procedures. Cardiovascular technologists are essential to cardiac care, ensuring accurate diagnostics, safe interventions, and high-quality patient support. Their expertise is crucial to the efficient operation of the cardiology department at our hospital.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the electrical activity of the heart, monitor the heart's rhythm, and detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias
• Work with cardiologists to assist in cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures, to examine the heart and possibly treat blockages
• Assist with angioplasty and stenting, minimally invasive procedures designed to open blocked arteries and aid physicians in placing stents to keep these arteries open
• May assist in the setup and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillator implantations, devices that help regulate the heart's rhythm
• Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures, including positioning, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfort
• During tests and interventional procedures, monitor the patient’s vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and report any issues to the supervising physician
• Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R and license as required by State or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire
• Proficient computer skills
• Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab, preferred
• Cardiovascular Technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring, preferred
