Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Clean Room Assembler in Fridley, MN to read instructions and build implantable devices in a controlled clean room. Work includes microscope-based assembly, soldering, and precise handling of small components for IPGs, pacemakers, and catheters.

The role requires 3–5+ years in medical device assembly, strong attention to detail, and ability to document work in QMS/ERP systems. Onsite 1st or 2nd shift options provide a structured work environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of assembly and/or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, travelers, and production drawings, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency documenting work in travelers, QMS systems, or ERP systems with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated hand dexterity and fine motor skills to work with very small components, including parts assembled under a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work instructions, travelers, and production drawings to perform accurate assembly of medical devices and sub-assemblies.
• Build IPGs, pacemakers, catheters, guidewires, and related components within a clean room environment following strict quality and cleanliness standards.
• Perform assembly tasks under a microscope, including handling and positioning very small parts with precision and care.
• Use small hand tools to complete mechanical and electrical assembly operations, including trimming parts and securing components.
• Solder pacemaker enclosures and wires, ensuring proper connections and adherence to medical device manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of parts and assemblies to identify defects, verify quality, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Document all work performed in travelers, QMS (Quality Management System) or ERP systems, maintaining accurate and complete production records.
• Follow established clean room protocols, including proper gowning and handling procedures, to maintain a controlled and contamination-free environment.
• Collaborate directly with technicians and other team members in a new product development area to support prototype and full build activities.
• Complete full builds of pacemakers, catheters, or both, as required, demonstrating a high level of skill and independence in assembly work.

Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $23 plus range

M-TH 3:30pm-2:00am 2nd shift $25 plus range

Job Description

The Clean Room Assembler reads detailed work instructions and production drawings to build implantable pulse generators (IPGs), catheters, and related sub-assemblies in a controlled clean room environment. This role involves working under a microscope, using small hand tools, performing visual inspections, trimming parts, soldering pacemaker enclosures and wires, documenting work in quality systems, and completing final packaging of medical devices. You will support new product development and work closely with technicians to complete full device builds, such as complete pacemaker or catheter assemblies, while maintaining high quality and precision standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
