Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab, under supervision. The position entails teaching new staff, monitoring, scrub tech duties, and patient circulator responsibilities, with 10-hour shifts and call.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science, current ACLS, RCIS within six months, or ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current AHA ACLS certification is required.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire; ARR T and TX RT(R) accepted in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assist physician as a monitor tech during procedures; interpret basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs; operate physiologic recorder and interpret pressures and waveforms.
• Assist physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operate imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assist physician as a circulator; monitor patient status during procedures; hand supplies to the scrub tech and operate imaging equipment.
• Transport patients to and from the department and prepare lab for procedures; maintain sterile technique; troubleshoot equipment.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience

AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

RCIS certification within six months of hire

ARRT and TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS
