Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab, under physician direction. The role involves scrub tech duties, imaging equipment operation, and patient monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in science or healthcare, current ACLS, and RCIS certification within six months (ARRT or TX RT(R) acceptable in lieu).

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Licenses and/or Certifications required (and preferred).
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire; ARRT and TX RT(R) can be in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as monitor tech during cath lab procedures, interpreting basic and advanced EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status and handing supplies.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages.
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares lab for procedures.
• Prepares patient for procedure by shaving and prepping and marking arterial pulses.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates inventory control.
• Post-procedure: removes arterial/venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, monitors patient status.
