Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. The role focuses on technical aspects and patient care during cath lab activities.

You will work 10X4 Day shifts, Monday through Friday, with start at 0700 and end at 1730. Requires RCIS certification within six months, AHA ACLS, and relevant degrees; ARR T and TX RT(R) can substitute RCIS.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) can substitute RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs, and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator, monitors patient status, hands supplies, and operates imaging equipment.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used, and theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and manages inventory.
• Post procedure safety: removes arterial/venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient.
