Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab under physician direction. Requires degree in science and current AHA ACLS, RCIS within 6 months or ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu.

Responsibilities include assisting during procedures, scrub tech duties, monitoring patient status, and inventory management. Roles involve teaching, equipment operation, and ensuring safety and sterile technique throughout the lab.

Qualifications

• Current AHA Advanced Cardio Life Support certification is required or preferred.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire or ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree with science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Licenses and/or Certifications required and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assist physician as monitor tech during cath lab procedures and operate physiologic recorder.
• Assist physician as scrub tech and operate imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Serve as circulator for some diagnostic procedures and monitor patient status.
• Transport patients to and from department and maintain cath lab supplies.
• Demonstrate medication knowledge, sterile technique, and inventory control.
• Prepare lab for procedures and ensure post-procedure safety and hemostasis.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems when they arise.
