Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring, imaging, preparing the lab, and assisting with patient care and safety.

The role requires RCIS within six months (or alternate ARRT/TX RT(R)), and current AHA ACLS certification, with a background in operating imaging equipment and physiologic recorders. Flexibility for day shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures in the cath lab, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs, and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status and handling supplies.
• Transports patients to and from the department and maintains cath lab stock.
