Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to support the Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures. You will assist physicians during invasive procedures, manage images, and help maintain equipment and inventory.

This role requires handling on-call duties and performing under stressful conditions. Qualified candidates have a Cardiovascular Invasive program background or health sciences degree, and RCIS/RCES or ARRT CI/VI certification.

Qualifications

• Four years clinical patient care experience required, if not graduate of Cardiovascular Invasive program.
• Graduate of diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate academic program in health sciences required (includes, but not limited to cardiovascular technology, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or ultrasound.)
• Successful completion of RCIS or RCES or ARRT CI/VI exam within two years of hire.
• ACLS required within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision is required.

Responsibilities

• To provide service to adults of all ages in the Cardiac Cath Lab and to adolescents, adults and older adults in Special Procedures.
• Assist physicians during invasive, sterile procedures.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatments.
• Responsible for image management.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.
• Assumes on call responsibility.
• Technologists must demonstrate an ability to function well under stressful or emergent situations
