Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for the Cath Lab at BUMC-T North in Tucson. The role focuses on scheduling and confirming patients for upcoming cardiac procedures, coordinating with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
2 years medical clerical experience preferred, especially hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Receive physician orders, verify details, and respond to scheduling inquiries.
Schedule patients for treatments or diagnostic procedures using computerized scheduling systems; resolve conflicts.
Enter patient information and maintain current records; prepare charts and manage files.
Distribute educational materials to patients and families when needed; answer diverse questions or refer to clinical staff.
Provide administrative support to the assigned unit as required.
Interface with physicians, office staff, patients and families; understand procedures and patient needs; maintain confidentiality.
