Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Heart & Vascular Center (HVC) is a 48‑bed unit designed to streamline pre‑op and recovery care for cardiac, neuro‑interventional, and interventional radiology patients. Staff perform assessments and procedures across multiple labs and respond to emergent cases.

As a nurse, you will apply the nursing process to provide sedation care, health teaching, and collaboration with the care team and physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program approved by the Alabama State Board of Nursing.
• One year of critical care nursing experience required; work experience may not substitute for education.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing; BLS required or to be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver moderate sedation care and health teaching in the heart/vascular procedure setting.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for patients and families in collaboration with the health care team.
