Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• RN licensure and Alabama state licensure (or multi-state compact) required on hire.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Practices family-centered nursing according to policies and Nurse Practice Act.
• Serves as charge nurse, supervising and coordinating patient care by licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Performs CPR per American Heart Association standards and handles emergency patient situations.
• Administers medications and blood products, starts IVs, and conducts venipuncture for tests.
• Maintains accurate records, documents charges, and uses the hospital information system.
