Job summary

Stuart Cardiovascular Surgery Center is hiring a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our cardiovascular team. The RN will assist physicians with interventional cardiac procedures, monitor patients, administer meds, and ensure high-quality pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited nursing degree, active RN license in Florida, BLS, and preferably ACLS; experience in Cardiac Cath Lab is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable.
• Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and patient management.
• Understanding and application of aseptic/sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Professionalism, accountability, flexibility, creativity, and receptiveness to change.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition during procedures.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as ordered.
• Provide patient and family education for pre- and post-procedure care.
• Maintain infection control, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology techs, cardiovascular techs, and other team members.
• Document patient care, procedural details, medications, and complications.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac events.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are prepared for procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, recovery, and discharge per protocols.
• Promote a professional, compassionate, patient-centered environment.

The Cath Lab RN plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with interventional cardiac procedures, monitoring patients, and ensuring optimal care before, during, and after procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.
