Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. Primary duties include assisting with technical aspects of procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring sterile technique.

Requirements include an associate or bachelor’s degree in science, current ACLS, RCIS within six months of hire (or ARRT TX RT(R) in lieu), and active licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire or ARRT and TX RT(R) in lieu.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures, interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and maintains sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, dosages, and theoretical procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and manages inventory.
• Post procedure safety: removes sheaths, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient status.
