Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; related experience may count toward qualification.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
• Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra/geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Locates historical information and maintains patient files, labeling charts for iodine allergies.
• Performs regular cleaning of equipment, transducers, injectors, and compressors.
• Inspects catheters and guide wires; stocks supplies as needed.
• Follows radiation safety guidelines and procedures.
• Schedules procedures and reviews patient history for lab readiness.
• Assists in catheter insertions, injections, angiography, and interventions under sterile technique.
• Recognizes dysrhythmias and EKG changes; communicates findings to physicians.
• Records data accurately; calculates ejection fractions and cardiac outputs.
• Operates balloon pumps and maintains hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Maintains cath lab network computers and PACS; supports data integrity.
• Reviews procedures and applies appropriate charges.
