Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab. The role involves assisting physicians, operating imaging equipment, monitoring patient status, and maintaining sterile technique under supervision and physician direction.

Requirements include an associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, current ACLS, RCIS within six months, and ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardio Life Support certification (ACLS).
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia, EKGs, and monitoring pressures/wave forms.
• Operates imaging equipment under physician direction and assists as scrub tech during procedures.
• Monitors patient status during procedures and assists with supplies and instrument handling.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department and assists with inventory control.
