Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Associate's degree (or higher) in Cardiovascular Technology, Allied Health or Health Services.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Will-Train at CCH.
• BLS – Current Basic Life Support certification.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within).
• IABP – Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course (complete within 6 months, offered within).
• RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification.
• RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters.
• Assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, operate interventional equipment and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Document all supplies, implants, and other regulatory components pertaining to the exam.
• Prepares, positions, transfers, and assists patients during procedures to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal imaging outcomes.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
• Provide patient education appropriate to the procedure.
• Follows radiation safety regulations and PPE usage.
• On-call required for off-shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Assist Physician with administration of contrast media and manage room turnover.
• Maintain inventory and participate in quality/process improvement initiatives.
