Job summary

Meyer Jabara Hotels, LLC is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to drive catering and event business for The William Fell and future Baltimore properties. You will own the sales process, build relationships, and close meetings with a service-first mindset.

The role requires at least 2 years of hotel group sales, strong negotiation and communication skills, and occasional weekend availability to participate in events and shows. This position offers growth toward an Area Catering Sales Manager role.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of selling group business in a hotel.
• Detail oriented with self-motivation and goal achievement.
• Ability to conduct telephone solicitation and in-person sales calls.
• Capable of negotiating group room rates and function space within guidelines.
• Experience in managing group bookings and events; strong organizational and communication skills.
• Conducts site tours and attends trade shows as needed; uses sales tools effectively.
• Hilton/Choice experience is a plus; weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement targeted sales strategies for the SMERF market segments.
• Book quality business meeting client needs and hotel budget criteria.
• Understand the department's aim to maximize profitable bookings.
• Attend weekly sales meetings and after-hours events for networking.
• Collaborate with event planning and operations to ensure smooth execution.
• Maintain professional appearance and build rapport with clients and staff.
• Grow relationships with existing clients and pursue new opportunities.
• Respond promptly to inquiries and provide exceptional service to corporate clients.
• Maintain communication with clients to meet and exceed expectations.
• Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies accordingly.
