Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Catering Sales Manager in Miami to drive catering revenue and guest experiences through effective sale and coordination of events. You will prospect, book, and plan catering business under the Director of Sales, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.

The role requires strong sales skills, interpersonal abilities, and hospitality experience, with a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends based on events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of sales experience in hospitality, with a focus on catering and events.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Delphi sales management software.
• Knowledge of the local market and industry best practices.
• Ability to travel occasionally to attend trade shows and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Execute sales plans and action plans to achieve individual catering revenue goals, in line with the strategy set by the Director of Sales.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with clients, including corporate accounts, social clients, event planners, and industry partners.
• Prospect, qualify, and close catering opportunities, ensuring a steady pipeline of business.
• Collaborate with the culinary and banquet operations teams to customize menus and event packages that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
• Coordinate all aspects of catering events, including site visits, menu tastings, room setups, and logistics, to ensure flawless execution.
• Draft thorough Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that lead to precise execution.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients within established guidelines, adhering to hotel policies and revenue management guidelines.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity, and share findings with the Director of Sales.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and provide input for catering forecasts and budgets.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the venue and generate new business opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
