Omaha Marriott Downtown is seeking a Sales Catering Manager to drive corporate and social catering opportunities, coordinate proposals, contracts, and menus, and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a bustling downtown hotel.

The role requires strong communication, organizational, and hospitality sales skills, with on-site event oversight and ongoing collaboration with hotel departments to ensure flawless service.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient computer and typing skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with short notice.
• Experience in hotel or catering sales preferred.
• Understanding of guest expectations in hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and develop new business through client visits, calls, networking, and relationships.
• Serve as primary contact for corporate, social and catering clients, tours, and promotions.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, menus, and client correspondence on time.
• Plan and coordinate events, ensuring requirements are communicated to operations.
• Oversee event execution and provide on-site support for service excellence.
• Maintain client relationships through proactive communication and follow-up.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and client records for planning.
• Represent hotel at community events and industry committees.
• Participate in departmental meetings and support policies and objectives.
