Job summary

SSA Group is seeking a Catering & Events Coordinator for the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens. This onsite/hybrid role partners with Sales and Culinary teams to drive catering sales and flawlessly execute events.

The ideal candidate combines strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills with a client-focused mindset. Prior catering or event experience is preferred and readiness to work varied hours.

• Experience with financial management, analytics and budgeting concepts.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Proficient in basic office software and operations.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes up to 35 lbs.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Secure signed agreements and create BEOs for incoming leads and bookings.
• Lead on-site tours with venue sales or catering teams.
• Implement strategies to upsell catering services to clients.
• Coordinate event plans, timelines, staffing and logistics.
• Oversee setup, execution and breakdown of events for smooth delivery.
• Collaborate with Area Sales, Culinary Team and other departments to flawless execution.
• Prepare and manage BEOs, diagrams and event documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and drive repeat business.
