SSA Group is recruiting an Assistant Catering Operations Manager to lead catering logistics for events at Roger Williams Zoo. You will coordinate client requirements, oversee event setup and execution, and collaborate with Sales and Culinary teams to deliver memorable experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and financial skills, with flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends. On-site catering operations at a cultural venue offer growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering operations or event planning in a venue or off-site setting.
• Ability to manage events from planning to execution with attention to detail.
• Strong client relations, logistics coordination, and budget awareness.
• Comfort working outdoors when needed and lifting up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute catering events with detailed timelines and staffing.
• Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of events to ensure smooth operation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Culinary, and other teams to meet event requirements.
• Manage budgets, costs, and inventory related to catering operations.
• Lead weekly BEO meetings and communicate plans to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, policies, and quality standards.
